PURGING INTO CLEAR MATERIAL
Follow these extra steps when purging from materials and colors into optical and/or translucent clear polymers.
1. After the second plug of Pekutherm® has been run through your machine, add some damp incoming clear material. Turn up the screw speed to about 60% and run out the wet material. This will steam out the very small carbon specks.
2. When all the carbon is gone, set the limit switch all the way back and fill the whole barrel completely, then index the screw several times to knock any crumbs of Pekutherm® out of the check ring.
3. Repeat Steps 1 & 2 if there is any sign of carbon left in the incoming clear material.
